Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q Alpharetta, GA

I will say that the pulled pork and the brisket were both very good, but there was a significant problem with my first visit to Jim N Nick's BBQ. I went on a Friday a couple of weeks ago at about 6:30pm. I expected the freshest, most delicious ribs that they had to offer. I started by ordering baby backs. I was informed five minutes later that there were none. That was fine, I decided to go with the spareribs even though I am not typically as fond of them. Two minutes later I was informed that they had none of them either. I was told that their smoker had inexplicably dropped to 140 degrees during the cooking process and that i could wait about 20 minutes and the ribs would probably be ready. Exactly what I don't want are poorly cooked ribs with a chance of spoilage. To briefly comment on the rest of the experience, I will say that this place was like the Longhorn Steakhouse of BBQ places. Very suburban, very family, and very clinical. I have to guess that the ribs would have been a bit north of mediocre, but I may never know. They still get 2 out of 5 slabs though because the pulled pork was great.
